For some reason, when I was growing up, painting walls (inside the house) seemed like it must be an incredibly big deal...a project to only be done once, maybe twice if absolutely necessary, in a lifetime. I'm not sure why it was this way, other than that my dad must just have really hated to paint. I, however, love it! So I'm not at all bothered by the fact that I'm about to paint over a room that was done less than five years ago!
Seth has been asking for some changes in his room. Remember this one, that I did a couple of years ago? (I think it's two years this summer.)
Well, he's decided the clouds are a bit too 'babyish' for him now (being the ripe old age of 8, almost 9), and so he's ready to move on to bigger and better. Plus, I've been noticing him seeming to feel a bit 'lost in the middle' thing, so we've really been trying to encourage his unique gifts, talents and interests, and give him as much freedom to express himself as possible. Granted, this is a bit hard to do when you share a teeny-tiny room with your little brother, but we're going to make the best of it! And we've got some really cool ideas brewing. It will definitely be a big change, and I'm excited to see Seth so excited to get to 'design' his own room. I did have to draw the line at him wanting to get rid of his brother's bed to give him more space...even though Luke happily said "I could just sleep on the floor...that would be fine..." Aw, what a sweetie he can be (sometimes!) when it comes to wanting his big brothers' approval. But a firm "No" brought giggles from both of them (definitely had to nip that one in the bud, or the big brother may have gotten carried away with taking advantage of the younger's generosity!), and we moved on to more talk of colors and the 'techy' theme. This one might be challenging, especially for me, because science and technology (which is what he wants for the 'theme') is a bit *ahem* out of my realm...I did get a little nervous when he asked me to draw circuit board designs somewhere in the room! (It's good I have artsy friends is all I can say!!) ;) But I think it's totally do-able, and can't wait to get started!!! With the colors he picked, I even have half the paint that I need already, so that makes me even happier! The little wheels in my brain are turning, so hopefully before too long I'll have some more fun makeover pics for you!

That's exciting. I love room makeovers, but my husband (a very good painter) does not enjoy the process. So things take longer to get started. I can't wait to see your "science and technology" theme. (It'd be out of my league, too.)
