girls day out

I have the best friends in the world. They arranged a girls' day out today, but of extraordinary proportions.

They made something happen for me that I've always wanted to do, but never really had the opportunity. See, due to circumstances, when I got married I wasn't able to go wedding dress shopping. I wore my mom's gown, but always wondered what I would have looked like in a gown that was more...well, me. So my friend Laura contacted a local bridal shop, explained my story and made an appointment for me to come in and...basically, play dress up!! It was sooo fun! I got to spend the day with my 2 best friends, play dress up, eat lunch and spend some fun girl time just hangin' together. (And a BIG thanks to Ashton for keeping all 8 of the kids to give us the time to do it all!!!) It's priceless to have friends who would do this with me (and not think that I'm a big, crazy baby for wanting to do it!).

Here's some pics of our fun:

You were beautiful at your wedding! What fun it looks like you had! I'm so happy for you - I guess we never get too old to play dress up?!?!

Beautiful! How special to play dress-up. I often fantasize about doing it again. So, is that the gown you'd choose if you had to do it now for real? The train and sleeves are absolutely stunning!

I'm thinking that if it had been me at 19 (when I got married) I would have gone with the long train/sleeve one, but now, it did nothing for me from the front. The strapless one that I have posted first is probably what I would pick if I was doing it now.
