blog facelift

I've been trying very hard to learn some nifty little tricks that will make my blog look better. Apparently I'm a complete computer idiot, and it's not exactly going well. I don't know if I 'should' be able to get this and I'm having a blockage, or if I'm way out of my league. In either case, please just bear with me as I do random changes to the look of this page...consider it "under construction" and just give me grace if you come visit here one day and things are looking a bit funky. It (and I) are in progress!
