giveaway #3 - sight

There is nothing that says spring more than the sight of beautiful, colorful flowers. As I'm sure you can guess, crocuses are, of course, one of my favorites, but I also love many others, including pansies, tulips, lilies and hyacinths (they are my favorite floral scent; and lilac too...)

Anyway, I won't say specifically the prize for next week because I'm still working out the details, but I'll give you some major hints... It will relate directly to what I've said above, involve color, and DEFINITELY make your heart sing over the arrival of spring!!

So how about leaving a comment telling me what your favorite spring buds, blossoms and blooms are! (And get your name in for next week's drawing too!)

By the way, here's a pic of the prize Kristine will be receiving from last week's contest.

I love Irises. A couple reason why I love them would firstly be their color. The deep purple and violets are so rich and pleasing to the eye. Secondly, their fragrance. I close my eyes and take in a deep breath and allow only my sense of smell to gain the full experience of spring. I smile and get goosebumps knowing that spring is here and how sweet it is!
Yeah for Spring!

At this time of year, I love any flower that's blooming!! LOL One of the few good things (in my humble opinion) about living in the south is that spring comes early. I have daffodils that are now blooming in my garden! I also have a type of iris that blooms twice a year & there are 7 different, gorgeous colors! In the fall, when things are beginning to fade & die, my irises are blooming strong.

I also have a Scotch Broom bush that will be blooming soon and it's a gigantic burst of yellow. That's probably my favorite.

I often think it might be a good thing for me that I live as far away from y'all as I do. Otherwise I'd be getting myself in some mighty big trouble at the Glick's greenhouse! :-)

I love soooo many - I don't know if I could choose one! I married Joe for his flowers....hehe. I love walking around the greenhouses around Easter, when we have all those fragrant flowers, and the bright primulas and ranunculas which herald the new season! I love flowers - I should be a florist...wink, wink.

I love tulips. I have no idea why. It's just such a pretty flower, and the colors are so vibrant!

It's just a reminder that things will be warming up, and my flip flops start callin' my name! :)

Those yellow daffodils are so cheery! I grew up in a town that was once famous for daffodil farms and they grow wildly all over. Also, I love tulips - they just shout "spring!" to me and you can't beat the mix of simplicity in design with brilliant happy colors!

LOVE This contest! Thanx for offering it!

Favortie spring flower? Daffodil. My first child was born on the first day of spring, 20 years ago! I came home from the hospital with him; he was 3 weeks early and jaundiced. I had to strip him down and set him in the doorway to get sunlight, poor little thing. I felt so helpless, as if his jaundice was my fault. (Yes, mother guilt starts SO early!)

I'll never forget the first time I did this routine to get his bilirubin count up, I felt so sad--until I glanced out into the yard and there were cheery yellow daffodils. It's as if they were saying, "It's okay. God takes care of us. We don't know what we're doing, but He does. He'll take care of you and your baby, too."
