g since the beginning of the summer. But I wasn't sure how to put my feelings on this topic into words. The topic is...Twilight. As in, the vampire saga phenomenon. It's been an issue that at first annoyed me, and the more I looked into it, the more agitated I became. It got to the point of being very "stuck in my craw" so to speak, and I just didn't think I could say anything that would come across in a loving or gentle manner that would be helpful (or not offensive) to people, so I chose to say nothing for the time being. And, over time, I simmered down. Not that I've simmered down in my beliefs on the topic, just simmered down enough to let it go for a while. I will suffice it to say that I think the whole Twilight and vampire obsession is truly from the pit of hell, and am saddened to see many people...Christians in particular....being so ok with it all. I think seeing this happen is exactly the kind of thing Isaiah is talking about in Isaiah 5:20:Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.So, to the question "Jacob or Edward" I say, no thanks, I prefer not to flirt with anything of a demonic nature. I have done lots of research, and rather than go on and on about it here, if you are interested in knowing more, please feel free to contact me. (I'd be more than happy to share it; I just don't feel like taking the time to type it all out if no one really cares to read it.) I will however post this link to Pastor Mark Driscoll addressing it with his congregation. (Now, there's plenty of things I do NOT agree with Mark on, however, this one I'm 150% on board with him!) :)

I totally agree! I have avoided those books no matter how many people said "You have to read Twilight!" "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable,anything that's excellent or praiseworthy. Think about such things" Phil. 4:7-9
I too have avoided the whole subject - and since my kids are still too young to know any different I just stayed away, feeling much like you, that's it's evil, but never really researched it.
I am in total agreement with your thoughts about the Isaiah passage and Julie's reminder from Philippians! Good stuff Ladies!! Thanks!
