So, we got about 18" of snow here today...my family was thrilled! Even hubby, since we bought a snowblower a few years ago (our driveway is wide enough to park three cars across and about 4 deep...so, pretty big area, not to mention the sidewalks) and is always itching to use it. And on a weekend no less -meaning he didn't have to work, so the snow blowing was more like 'play' (at least to some degree) rather than extra labor after an already long day. And the kids played out with the neighbor kids for hours. I got to chat with my neighbor across the street for a bit while we left our dogs romp around in the snow together (unleashed because they have a fenced in yard, which we do not yet, so Maggie also thought she was in heaven). Then my next door neighbor, who is a middle aged single lady (who we don't see much because of her work hours) called to tell me to thank Todd for snow blowing her walk and drive too. She proceeded to chat with me for about 20 minutes, which was very nice. It seems like our neighborhood becomes much more 'neighborly' when there's snow...probably just because we're all out at the same time! I really like my neighbors. :o)
I was only out for a bit...I prefer to enjoy the beauty from within my cozy warm house. But I did have fun with another craft project...
So, while
he did this:
I did this!!
I made these plates for my dining room wall. Once again, stealing my sister's creative genius, I got clear glass plates and Walmart (for $1 each) and scrapbook paper from Michael's. Wetted the paper slightly with a spray bottle to make it more pliable, coated the bottom of the plate with Mod Podge, and formed the paper to the plate. Presto! 3 plates I love in colors that perfectly complement my decor and fit my plate holder without months of searching for them! And it probably took all of about 15 minutes! I love Mod Podge - AND my sister for always letting me take all her good ideas!! I'm such a copy cat...

Love them - can't wait to see them up close! I also see that you replaced your dining room curtains... lol. (And I knew you were crafting instead of cleaning yesterday....)
Those look wonderful. I may have to make a set for my kitchen. Great job!
my parents live in Maryland and they are at 49 inches of snow right now? I am thankful i took the hike down to NC 7 years ago!!
the plates are adorable! i have been looking to make a cake plat but havent found the "one" plate to use. the thought of putting baked goods on a painted or podged service frightened me!
you=solution!
thanks!
I love how they turned out. I just bought my first jar of Modge Podge, so I'm going to try this out!
