my daybook

There's a really unique blog I came across (via Zoanna) called The Simple Woman's Daybook that has these 'thought starters'. Check it out if you'd like. I thought it was a neat way to help myself slow down and take a minute to just be "in the moment". Go ahead and take a minute to do one yourself...even if you're not a blogger, just jot the answers down in a journal or even on a slip of paper! It's a great way to sharpen your focus and cultivate a thankful awareness of what's going on in and around you right now.

FOR TODAY
January 28, 2010...

Outside my window...beautiful snow is falling, and cars are creeping slowly down the road.

I am thinking...of my hubby, who just called and is having a rough time getting to work on unexpectedly slick roads.

I am thankful for...the opportunity I had to earn some extra cash this month to fund some of my little 'projects'.

From the kitchen...the hum of the much appreciated dishwasher.

I am wearing...my jammies (which are Eagles flannels, given to me by my husband a few years ago; he said if I was gonna wear flannel to bed, it was at least gonna be his team!)...hey, it's still early!!

I am creating...new curtains and other homey touches to our little house.

I am going...to Home Depot to look for new handles for my cupboards and price counter top...provided the roads clear up!

I am reading...Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth by Richard Foster (and waiting for my next Ted Dekker book to come in at the library!!)

I am hoping...that God will move in big ways in our church this year.

I am hearing..."Martha Speaks" - which we have a particular affinity to at our house, since Martha reminds us of Maggie. :o)

Around the house...there's lots to be done!!

One of my favorite things...changing things around the house to make it more cozy!

A few plans for the rest of the week: prayer night tonight; makes some new curtains for the kitchen and bath; maybe paint a wall in the kitchen; provide taxi service for my kids; pray for my hubby and other guys from church as they attend the "Man Up" conference...

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...our snuggly Miss Maggie this morning...

Aw, I just love the boy and his dog picture. Like also your ability (which I lack) to keep those daybooks brief:).
