ta da!

Well, after only a bit of hassle because Home Depot's paint mixer wasn't calibrated right, so our colors were off... too long and boring of a story to post...here's our color filled house! And it was all done in one day, including furniture put back and all, with time to relax and enjoy and watch a movie at the end of the day! (The pics aren't great, but it was the best I could do...) Thanks to all our dear friends and family for all the help in all the different ways...painters, 'color advisors', food providers and babysitters...we love you all!

Wow! One day! You guys are gooood! (What a little help from friends can do, huh? Okay, this is another freaky thing we have in common--our wall color. In my family room/kitchen area (one big space) is sage green. Secondary color: light coffee (as in: coffee with hazelnut creamer stirred in). It seems you and I also enjoy fundraising for God's kingdom work. I'll pray your yard sale is a huge success. I know they are a huge amount of work to prep for, run, and take down, but if yours is anything like mine ($825) you'll reap great rewards for Koinonia House!

Thanks for your prayers Zoanna...we are trying to get our church into a building (we desperately need a space of our own). Can't wait to see what God's going to do...

Are you guys gonna sell clothes at the yard sale? If so, may I offer a suggestion about pricing? When we said, "50 cents each" our sales were okay. Very few ppl touched clothing marked above 50 cents. HOWEVER, when 11:30 came we said, "Fill a blue shopping bag for $5.00," the clothes FLEW! If I were to do it again, I'd start the day with "fill a bag for five bucks." Mind you, some ppl REALLY stuff their bags, but you will be so glad when you're not packing it up afterwards. My consolation was that all our leftover clothes went to GAiN, with whom we're serving on our missions trip.

We've just been discussing how to price stuff, so that's a very helpful tip! Thanks!
