i hate laundry!
I really hate folding laundry. I don't mind sorting it, putting it in the washer, transferring to the dryer, but for some reason, I DREAD folding it and putting it away! It sits in baskets in our bedroom til I finally can't stand walking around it any more (about once a week I get really annoyed at my mess and finally clean it up - in between I'm a 'piler' - piles of books, papers, jewelry, and other random things clutter my dresser). I guess today's the day. I'm sick of digging through the laundry baskets for clothes. I'd rather blog and surf the net all day, searching random things, but alas, 'real life' must go on - and real life at my house includes a LOT of laundry. Does anyone else let random things pile up while you procrastinate (even though it's really not a hard job, just a dreaded one)? Or am I just a really bad housewife??? (Which is truly a real possibility...)

You get the 'piler' gene from the Lawrence side of the family. Sorry, hope we passed some of the wonderful things down as well. Any time I can, you know I don't mind coming to visit and will always fold the laundry for you if its there and I have the time to sit a spell...but the putting away, I'm afraid you'll still have to do that part. How come I love to fold laundry and you hate it? The putting away, now that's a common...and will encourage you that THAT can get better as the kids get older. Hang in there, you are NOT a bad housewife!! You're a wonderful wife and mother with a full life you can Praise God for! I love you!! Love, Mama
I think I've found my online twin. I read this aloud and laughed. My teenage daughter said, "are you sure you aren't your own blog?" In fact, JUST LAST NIGHT I had this long talk (okay, argument) w/ my hubby over my lack of diligence in the whole housework arean. I did some serious repenting this morning and asked God for the grace of a new routine that will work, and to sustain me. I've done this aame sort of thing mabye 2305 times in a 2o -year marriage. I'm a piler, too. Or a pilot. Pile-it here, pile-it there. Now I'm off to fold the darks AND put them away.
*meant to say *sure you aren't READING your own blog?"
Hi Zoanna,
I think you're right. I took a look at your profile, and I too am a "happy mother of four, wife of one", homeschool mom, as well as love Rich Mullins and Emilie Barnes! Wow. And, hey, apparently we both know Briana. Pleased to meet you!
That's too funny. I have 3 kids in their teens (one will be 19 tomorrow) and a 5 year old. I actually have a signed Emilie Barnes book I bought on ebay and Paul and I went to 2 Rich Mullins concerts. Did you go to any? And, this is funny but it's not--my hubby found glass not in his food but in the bottom of a Smapple drink. When he complained, Snapple sent him coupons for about as many cases as are humanly consumable in a year! What curriculum do you use? If you say Tapestry of Grace, we really ARE twins separated at birth.
I must've hit Publish twice for each comment. How wordy is that? I went and deleted the dupes.
Well, Zoanna, another oddity...my daughter's birthday was today (my oldest, turned 11). I never had the pleasure of hearing Rich in concert, and I am currently using 2 different curriculums - Alpha Omega's Switched on Schoolhouse and A.C.E's PACE's for my first grader.
